FO!!!: Wispy, the KAL

Woot woot!! My Wispy is done! I actually finished it on the flight to Branson…so on the 23rd of May. But obviously, I wasn’t able to get a FO post out, due to the happiness of being on vacation ^_^

So, this was a KAL that I was doing with Hannah ^_^ Last KAL we did, we did Julissa, and she beat me by just staying up later and finishing the sleeves, we were that close. But this time, I won!

Not that it matters, cause it wasn’t a race (ehhh heh heh ^_^) but yeahhh, eee heehee. :-P

Pattern: Wispy by Hannah Fetig of the Knitbot
Yarn: Quince and Co. Finch, 100% American Wool
Color: Peacock – 109 (Lot: 001)
Needles: US 6, US 4, and US 2
Mods: definitely.

So, I cast on for the size I *thought* would fit and was just going to change the length of things so it’d kind of work. I followed the instructions and had my mom measure my shoulders, and I calculated the number of inches I needed to knit before the fake seam (in the middle of the back. Yep, that’s fake. Isn’t that cool??) and after and all that jazz.

I knit all of it, blocked it, seamed it, tried it on, and it looked baaaad. It wouldn’t stay on, it was so big. So I ripped it out to where it *felt* in the middle of my back (which was kind of a risk, I was really worried it wouldn’t work. But it did, hallelujah!) and just continued on my merry way.

So, if you knit this, just be aware that your calculations may not be right. Or maybe they are, I just did something wonky (which is probably the case, haha)

But I worked it so it fits sooo extremely well, I adore it. Definitely one of my favorites. Ohhhh yes.

Like with Julissa, we’ll wear ours together in person, at some point in the future. When that’ll be, I don’t know. But it will happen. Most definitely. Ohhhh yes.
