Stripy TARDIS Socks. *wiggles with joy*

Stripy TARDIS Socks. *wiggles with joy*

Yaaaay, Wispy cardigan update! Woot woot! Sadly, there’s some sad news with that update…

It looks kinda sad, doesn’t it, haha.

So, now for the story. I knit the whole shrug portion. Blocked it, seamed it. All that jazz, it looked amazing.

Then I tried it on. Yeah, no, it didn’t look amazing then, haha. It didn’t come close to staying on my shoulders…. it looked horrible, haha.

So after a discussion with my madre, and my fellow KAL person, Hannah, I decided to figure out where the middle of my back *felt* (not the measurements, cause we did that before and look where that got me, haha) mark that place with a marker and then frog to that marker. Which was obviously, before the fake seam.

So I did, and I’m about 1.5″ into the second sleeve. But since the yarn had been blocked and been in the “knit” position (cause that’s totally a position, don’t cha know, haha) the yarn was really… crinkly. (I think there’s a technical term for that, but I have no clue what it is, hahaha :-P) so that’s why the second half of it looks like a sad bundle of bleh. And the other half looks semi-decent. Minus the cat hair, haha. ^_^

But on more positive knitting knotes, I’m more than halfway done with a second sock! Yesssss.

Calling these my TARDIS socks. Because of the blue, obviously, and the gray kind of remind me of the TARDIS ^_^ This is Ladybug Fiber, which is some of the most amazing sock yarn I’ve knit with. Plus their customer service is awesome, they’re extremely sweet people :-) Go check out their stuff!!

So I’m kicking second-sock-syndrome in the rear, and getting this one knit up lickity-split. it’s my purse knitting, so it’s been everywhere with me :-P

.7 projects left! Yesssss

.7 projects left! Yesssss

So, I might not have to stay up very very late/very very early on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day after all.

At this very moment, I only have about 1.5 (and barely that..) gifts to knit left. That absolutely have to be done. And the 1, it’s a hat. And all that’s left is the decreases. So… maybe more like .7 projects left, haha :-P

Phew. Lots of knitting right there. But totally more than worth it. Most definitely. I’m going to try and do my best to get pictures.. of the objects on/with/near by the recipient.. hopefully, haha. :-P

I love Christmas knitting ^_^

Plus, after I’m done, I get to continue my work on the UFO bin… and that Stephen West shawl, Sharktooth ^_^

FO: Sockies ^_^

FO: Sockies ^_^

BAM SAID THE KNITTING GODDESS.

I SO GOT THAT SOCK DONE. In a day plus a little itty bitty bit. BOOYYYYYAH. *feels accomplished* ^_^

I kinda like wearing socks with high heels. Especially… fun socks like that. Bright colors.. Yep. I think it’s pretty awesome. (*hinthinthint for fall weather to finally come and *stay*)

Bertie. Has a sock. Not just any sock, though. it’s full… of catnip. Hence.. the greenness on the end, haha. It’s some old sock that was found, and I guess didn’t have a match. Sooo it became a very… popular cat toy, haha.

It also causes Bertie to play with little pieces of fuzz on the carpet.

Though… He does that even when he’s not under the influence of catnip :-P

For today’s Quotable Friday, just gotta scroll on down a bit :-)

Helloooo Socktoberfest 2011

Helloooo Socktoberfest 2011

So, I’m finally getting around to working on my Stephen West Mystery KAL (which, is now over. and the name of the shawl is “Earth and Sky”)

I originally had purple (you can see a little bit of it in the corner of the picture) instead of the black.

But I was so smitten with Stephen West’s version of it… or one of them. That I had to use black instead. Obviously, the black is in a different place than his. But I like mine :-)

Also. Socktober fest is quickly coming upon us.

Last year. I… said I’d make around 15 pairs of socks. or, I had that many patterns picked out, and the yarn picked out as well.

That was silly. I don’t think I even finished any socks that month. Cause… I got bored, haha. And worked on other stuff :-P

SO! This year. my goal. Is to knit at least *2* pairs. Surely I can do that.

And actually.

(and yes. I do know. I really need to repaint my toe nails, haha.)

I only have one more sock in one pair… then I’ll have one pair taken care of ^_^ (and this is an old pair of socks. SO! Yay for getting old stuff done and completed ^_^)

Maybe I should say two pairs of *patterned* socks. Hm.

I’ve never… completed, heh heh, a patterned sock before. I have Cookie. A’s Knit. Sock. Love book … so I might choose something out of there.

Cause it’s not like I don’t have anything else on the needles -_- haha.

Or maybe I’ll just stick with vanilla socks, haha. I don’t know :-P We’ll see how it all works out, haha.

Butterflies, Dancing, and Best Friends…

Butterflies, Dancing, and Best Friends…

My knitting…Soay is going amazingly well…

I got so much done during the week…haha

Jeeves approves….whole-heartedly, haha :-P

I do apologize for not posting at all last week…in fact, I think I completely missed a Quotable Friday…how horrible of me. But, I had so much fun the entire week…

We made key lime pie. And due to the fact that lime juice either isn’t in season or we couldn’t find it, meant that we had to…hand squeeze all the limes.

Like…a lot of limes. But was it worth it..? Ooooh yes, haha.

Then there was the ball… and I’m just going to say that that was MORE THAN AMAZINGLY AWESOME, because I don’t think I can actually…describe how amazingly awesome it was. It was *that* awesome…

One of the days, we went to Museum of Natural Science in downtownish/Museum District. We saw the gems (which no matter how many times I see, I always enjoy them…) we saw the Texas exhibit…which was definitely interesting. And we saw the butterflies. Which…was so cool.

Because…because it was so warm that day, all the butterflies were up and about…there were millions flying everrrrywhere. Never seen that before, and it was uberly cool.

Haha, this is just a small glance at all the amazingly awesome things we did …And so many more fun things happened, so many inside jokes were created (like so many, I can’t even remember all of them…)

But then we had to drop them off at the airport…and it was sad. But all more than amazingly awesome things must come to an end….unfortunately…

*who cares about the probably bad quality of the picture. it needs to be posted, shared, and loved.*

In other words, I have some of the bestest friends ever. And I stinking loved having them come visit. I’m sad that they’er gone…and I hope that they either come back…or we go visit them soon :-)

Another knitting knote…

I finished those socks :-)

Day 4 of 14 of Thankfulness!! (plus Musical Monday!)

Day 4 of 14 of Thankfulness!! (plus Musical Monday!)

Today I am thankful for socks. Especially knit socks.

Or just socks in general. they’re just fun.

I mean seriously! They can be cute, they keep your feet warm, and…yeah.

Now on another note, it’s time for the song for Musical Monday!

I won’t say much, I’ll just let you bask in the amazingness of it all. I can’t get enough of this song, it’s soooo amazing. Hooooly cow.

Anyways, hope your Monday is amazing, and your week continues to be the same :-)

Here is the list of fellow Thankfulness people :-) (and if you’d like to see your name on this list, comment with your blog link :-) and if you want to be removed, the same applies :-D)

Yarn is coming out my ears…

Yarn is coming out my ears…

….but this is definitely not a bad thing :-P

To start things off. My trip was more than amazingly awesome. Like, there are no words in the WORLD that can describe my feelings for that trip.

Many pictures were taken. I will probably post a couple of them. But not quite yet. Because, I have all my knitting stuff ready to go…and yeah.

Second thing to start this off. When we got home, and the mail arrived, I recieved the most amazing earrings ever from one stinking amazing friend, Hannah (who you should go check out).

It’s a ball of yarn. With knitting needles sticking out of it. OH my goodness.

(Stupid WordPress!! It ate EVERYTHING. Why didn’t you save it?! *headesk*)

Blargi, I had everything…typed out. Pictures EVERYTHING. but…it’s all…gone?? WHY?! Gar, oh well. I’ll just…keep going. And…try and re-write it. Ish.

It won’t be as awesome as the one that was eaten though.

It’s supposed to autosave it….like every few minutes. But…it didn’t apparently. There’s no save button to do it manually. GARRRRR.

So, on to the yarn-ness. I really do have yarn coming out of my ears, there’s so much to do! I have…multiple projects at various stages. Such as A) almost done, I’m just not taking the time to finish them now. B) Half way between finished and end. It’s gotten boring. C) just started, it’s going to be a long one. Or D) not even started.

And I have many projects in all of those categories.

Category A) There’s…the Kamara pullover, which is almost done! I seamed it together last night, and now I’m working on the big cowl. Which shouldn’t take too long. It’s on a size 10, with Circular Garter Stitch. Not a huge fan of that, but oh well.

The Modern Garden, which I got the size 15 DPNs, and finished one sleeve…and I’m almost done with the second. Then I have to attach them to the body, and continue on with the yoke. I’m really not liking knitting the sleeves, because…the needles are so big, and the yarn doesn’t really…stand very well by itself. It takes a lot of control to keep everything straight on the needles. Bleh.

And something I got at Simply Fibers in Springfield, MO. It’s called the Short Row Scarf…

Are these colors amazing or what?! It’s Mini Mochi Plus, I believe. I have 5 balls, as the owner suggested. About to start my 3rd ball, and it’s pretty long already. We’ll see where I end up when I’m done with this one…and I’ll either keep going, or save the 2 extra for something else :-P Surprisingly, this picture is pretty true to the colors. Yaay!

And other things…that I’m failing to remember right now. Haha.

Category B) There’s a lot here, but I don’t have any pictures. So, I won’t really…talk about this section. Heh heh.

Category C) I love new things! It’s so much fun to start something new. Even though you might have lots of other stuff going on. Real life stuff and knitting stuff.

Here’s Snowbird!! I realized, after that post where I told you guys about it, that I *do* have the same yarn as the one in example I showed everyone. I apparently can’t read ball bands or something. O.o Oh well, I’m really happy that I just happened to pick the same yarn, even though I *thought* that it was a different kind. Boooyah!! Anyways, the picture is really…bad? You can’t really see the color. Like I said before, it’s a black with purple. Or black with brown, depending on the lighting.

My Monkey socks!! I’m loving these. It’s a really fun pattern, and really easy too! The yarn I chose, I was worried that it’d look really messy with the different colors and stuff. But it’s looking awesome :-) I got a lot of it done while listening to the Ballingers and my parents jam in the condo house thing. And that was seriously stinking awesome :-D

And other stuff as well…that don’t have pictures. Heh heh. Moving on!

Category D) There’s a ton of stuff here. Such as the 3-hour sweater and Quadrat. (Pardon the lack of links, but…yeah. Heh heh.)

There’s a ton of socks for the Socktoberfest.

Sock yarn that I got on the trip. Berroco Comfort Sock yarn…can you get any better than that?! I’ve seen it before, but I’m really looking forward to working with it. Then there’s the Mini Mochi! Who can’t resist yarn that has a little cat face (…or whatever that is, haha) on the ball band? Plus, they have amazing colors AND it’s SOOO soft.

A box with balls waiting to be used. Waiting patiently. Along with all the many other projects that need to be done…

As a side note: I’m going to be doing the Natknimo this year! It’s the whole month of November, which is National Knit Month (hence the Natknimo…haha). It’s just where everyone sets personal goals for themselves. And…I think there might be a random drawing at the end, for fun. I think the big personal goal that I’ve seen is stitches. So, kinda like the Million Stitches in a Year deal. But just in the month of November.

Speaking of a Million Stitches in a Year, I need to update mine. I’ve knit a ton since I last did it though, so it should be a huge number.

My last number was in July at 450,713…

Where do you think I am now? Take a guess, and see how close you are!

Gar, so sorry for the problem with posting. I don’t know what happened. But hopefully…this will work. Garrrrr.

Branson, HERE I COME!!!!

Branson, HERE I COME!!!!

Before we arrive in Branson, we’re spending the night with my brother and sister-in-law in OKCity, which is funnnn! And before that, we’re stopping on Dallas to see my wonderful sister and have lunch. Thennnn we’re heading to Branson.

So today, along with the hectic school stuff this morning, (more on that later) we did a lot of stuff. Like, a looooot. We finished cleaning, we made brownies, we did some laundry, and some of us got our stuff laid out, all ready to pack.

All I need is my suitcase, which is somewhere in our attic, and I’m ready to go. All my knitting stuff is laid out…everything is amazing!

All of that is going to be put in one bag…my knitting bag. Not my purse, cause my purse is my purse. Not my knitting bag. Biiiiig difference.

Anyone think I’m overpacking in the yarn area?

“I have packed a mitten kit, three socks in progress, three things to spin, a backup skein of sock yarn and my knitpicks options so that if I run out of yarn I can still go get more and have needles. I am still wondering if I should take more. (Maybe a shawl….)” ~ The Yarn Harlot

She also said something along the lines of “Knitters always have a fear of not having enough knitting projects on a trip. The idea is terrifying.”

Oh, how true. How very very true. I’m thinking about winding those Paca-Peds I got, since I’m not bringing those…just in case :-P

Here’s the sock bag….with yarn enough for four socks, and about 6 sock patterns.

Here is the non-sock bag, haha, with the Modern Garden in it! Guess what bag is it’s home?

CREATIVE FIBERS! FTW!!! :-)

what is this? Well, this is yarn. It’s yarn for this

(this is not me. Thaaaank you Ravelry for the picture :-P)
Which, like a lot of patterns, I’ve had my eye on for FOREVER. This Zara came from The Yarn Co in New York. Like, the Yarn Girls. *THE* Yarn Girls. I’ve said this already, but that’s SO COOL. I mean…it’s the Yarn Girls!! Gah, I can’t say it enough, haha.

the color of the yarn is not black. Or navy. Or a bluey-purple. It’s just a regular dark dark purple. Which I love and adore.

But I also have to keep in mind…to save room for projects that I get.

*sigh* the life of a knitter…

Haha, anyways. I hope your Friday was amazing. And will continue to be till the very end of today. I do apologize how late this is. Like I said, it was a hectic day.

I will hopefully be taking pictures and writing stuff in the car. Not posting, thanks to lack of internet. But I’ll try to post as often as I can..while I’m gone :-) If you don’t hear from me. You’ll know where I am, and I’m alive and well.

Oh, and as a quick side note:

I had almost 1,000 views in the month of September!! Thank you all SO STINKING MUCH for reading and commenting!!! I really really REALLY appreciate it. You have no idea :-)

My readers = the best stinking readers EVER. Booyah.

Surprise Project is REVEALED. OOoh yeah.

Surprise Project is REVEALED. OOoh yeah.

Ha, I did it. One more thing to cross of my ever-growing-longer To-Do list before Saturday.

Along with finish my Great Books for next week. And my paper, which is due the Friday we’re gone, but I want to get it done now…so I don’t have to worry about it.

Finish my Greek. Do my nails. Write down the list of projects that I made for the knitting store in Branson. Clean my room. Clean the house. And finally, take pictures and write a blog post.

After all that, you can see where my priorities are, haaaahaaaa.

Annnyways. Here is what I’m making.

from CEY’s (Classic Elite Yarn) new book Weekend… The Funnel Neck Pullover.

Like always, the color isn’t correct. It’s more of a plum-y color. It’s SO beautiful. The yarn I’m using is Rowan by Amy Butler…Belle Organic Aran. It’s 50% wool and 50% cotton. Which, is absolutely perfect for Houston weather.

The goal was to get it at least put together by Saturday, and then I can work on the cowl neck in the car. But, I’m not sure that’s going to happen. I was too eager to start my first Sockoberfest sock…and did that instead.

Baaad me. But I’m almost positive that I’ll finish the first sleeve tonight. And I already have the back and front done. And I got the first sleeve done in two days. So, if I get the second sleeve done in two days, I can block it on…Sunday evening. And then put it together on Monday…evening.

Surprisingly enough, the garter stitch (the bumpy part) took longer than the stockinette stitch (the V part) which…is interesting. The garter stitch is allll knitting. Where the stockinette stitch is knit one row, and purl one row. Yep.

I also got…more sock yarn! Yaaaayyy! We stopped in..at Yarntopia today! Which makes Thursday extremely happy. I needed to get size 1 and 0 DPNs for the socks. Because…I’m pretty sure that the 2 I’m using is still going to make it too big.

Therefore, I have to rip this out…

Which is the beginning of the Monkey socks. Which I’m loving. Except that I have to rip it out, and start over. Which…is ok. But I found out that it’s really hard to go back to *regular* knitting after doing the twisted rib, haha.

Sidetrack. The new sock yarn I got is…Mini Moochie. Which I <3

I’m really looking forward to knitting with it. I’ve done some Mini Moochie before, and I looooved it!

Phew. I feel accomplished. Now…on to more important things…such as school. and cleaning. and my nails :-P Nails are sooo important. ;-P

Haha, hope your Thursday was awwwesome, and the rest of your week will continue to be the same :-P
