Christmas Ornaments!

Christmas Ornaments!

aren’t these like the cutest things EVER??

And they don’t even have the faces yet.

These are little Christmas ornaments for my sister’s tree. She doesn’t have a ton of ornaments at the moment, so she asked for some. Though she didn’t ask for handmade, I thought it’d be a really nice thing to do.

The pattern is from this blog, where there are some examples of what I want mine to look like, haha.

Hopefully I’ll be successful :-P

These *are* crocheted. Which, is definitely not my strong suit, haha. I’m sure I’m butchering some of the stitches, but oh well. It’s a work in progress :-P

Oklahoma City, and it’s yarny adventures.

Oklahoma City, and it’s yarny adventures.

Phew, I’ve done a lot of traveling over the past few days…my sister-in-law graduated from the Oklahoma City University PA Program. Which is so awesome, that’s a ton of work, and she did an amazing job. I did take pictures of the trip, with my phone (except for two of them), so I’ll just show you some of them :-P

Upon getting to Oklahoma City, people took naps, people worked, and my mom, dad, and myself… what did we do?

We headed to the yarn store.

And Gourmet Yarn, the store, was extremely epic. Because 1) the selection was so huge, it wasn’t even funny. and 2) They had a TON of Madelinetosh. That picture is just a little bit of their selection. My mom and I kinda had a mini-knitter’s heart attack. There was just so much goodness.

It was too good to pass up. So we both came home with some. I got a different color as well, but that’s for a different post :-P This amazingly gorgeous yellow is going to be a hat. The Poet Society Tam, in particular. I also got two adorable little buttons to go with this yarn.

I surprised myself by being so attracted to that yellow. I’m not a huge yellow fan, actually. I don’t think it looks that good on me. But I love this yellow. Who couldn’t love it? It’s just a happy hue.

I got stitch markers. for 6$. Be jealous.

They came on this thread, as well as the little holder, which my mom and I were confused about. Why the little thread? I soon found out, when I got it out of the package for further inspection, that it was made to be a necklace, so you could hang it around your neck, and get stitch markers easily. That is what I call a brilliant idea. Oh yeah.

Day 1 – going to Dallas: Started before the division of the arms.
Day 3 – coming home to Houston: Body completely cast off, and only 5 more rows on the edging, and the sleeves left.

Yeah, I spent a lot of time sitting around either in the car, or listening to people. I was having a total blast.

I also started the Hunger Games. HOLY COW. SO STINKING AMAZING. I CANNOT PUT IT DOWN. Except.. now, of course, because I’m writing this. But I shall definitely go continue to read this after I’m done.

Annnnnd…

I finished an early Christmas gift ^_^ The recipient adores it. Annnnd it’s really really cool. I’m happy with how it turned out. I used the Big Snowy Owl pattern from Purlbee SoHo

Just btw: I’m absolutely swamped for the next… 2 weeks ish. So if the weekly posts aren’t there, or if I’m not posting as often as I usually do (and as often as I’d like. holy cow, I love to blog) you’ll know why.

I’m so excited for Friday, you have NO IDEA!! HOLY COW.

Day 3 of 14 Days of Thankfulness!

Day 3 of 14 Days of Thankfulness!

Today.. I’m thankful for my sister. Cause.. she’s so stinking awesome. You should be jealous that my sister is *that* awesome.

She gets excited about knitting, and actually knits awesome stuff herself. That right there? That’s a hat. A pretty awesome hat.

We went yarn bombing together (which that post is coming, haha)

And she’s pretty much one of the coolest people I know.

She listens to my problems, helps me with encouraging words. Has great advice about fashion.. and other stuff.

Plus, she has, like any big sister, given me a lot of clothing/jewelry items that she doesn’t want anymore. Which results in a lot of compliments, which I can reply to with “My big sister give this to me ^_^” And that’s just happy.

I’m extremely blessed to have the sister I have… she’s the best, and I wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world. <3

Goodbye Summer, Hello School…

Goodbye Summer, Hello School…

and so. begins my senior year (yeah, messed up with my age. I already know, haha. you don’t need to point it out.)

I’m excited. Sad…ish. Happy. Looking forward to the knitting I’ll get done, haha.

So today is Labor Day… the last day before school officially starts tomorrow, haha. With everything… not just online classes..cause those started last week.

Today. I’m not sure what it’s going to hold. Hopefully knitting… and just kinda getting ready for tomorrow. *writes down assignments, and divides them between the days*

So organized, haha.

Knittingness: I’ve been definitely working on finishing all those WIPs I have laying around. IN FACT. I’m like… about 90% done with one. It’s like SO CLOSE TO BEING DONE.

But tragedy struck last night while I was putting it together. Annnnnd, I gotta rip back today, and add on another pattern repeat (which is only about 20 rows. Which is ok, cause they go pretty quickly.) then re-do the stuff I ripped out… :-/

I have no idea what happened… because I am 100% positive I followed the pattern and did what it said. Word for word.

…typo, possibly? I hope so, haha.

Anyways, besides the fact that one side is indeed longer than the other… it’s adorable. annnnd I can’t wait to wear it :-D

So many fun things have happened to me this summer, I can’t… even like.. begin to say how much fun it was. And the word “fun” doesn’t even begin to cover.. how awesome it was, haha.

But, this past weekend… starting on Friday, and ending on Sunday evening. Katie came for a visit ^_^

Which was just soooo cool :-P But it’s always fun to hang out with her.

Among many…crazily insane pictures…some where taken. that will remain epic. for forever.

Liiiike, that one. Hahahaha… aaaah, makes me laugh every time.

And then there were pictures which remain epic for forever for totally different reasons, haha.

I love my sissy. She’s the bestest <3

(also, today's Musical Monday is down below :-P)

FO: Elmo Fuzz!!

FO: Elmo Fuzz!!

Happy Easter, everyone! Let us celebrate Christ’s resurrection :-)

*drumroll please* This is…Elmo Fuzz!

*is proud* I finished something!!

Can you say awesome summer cardigan?

I’ll definitely get a lot of good use out of this!

I followed the pattern pretty closely… I added extra shaping in the back…because I wanted mine to be more fitted than the picture in the book…and I could see from my mom’s (she made one too, in a peachy color..) that it was a little…floppy?

But when I did the shaping, I just did the decrease row a totally of like…8 times.

Also changed the sleeves. They’re a little longer than elbow-length in the pattern, and they’re belled. Which, belled sleeves look ok on some people…but I’m not one of those people. It also depends on the project…but yep :-P

I also know that it says that you’re not supposed to close it…but I love it both ways. So..who cares what the pattern says as to how you’re supposed to wear it :-P

I’m so happy with it :-P Sprout = one of my new favorite yarns.

I, uh, got more yarn. Pictures will be coming :-)

I also have an interesting idea, and I want your opinions. That’ll also be coming soon :-)

Happy Easter, hope yours was amazing :-)

(Quite sidenote: Thanks to Joey, who took the pictures. Do I have one of the best brothers ever? I’m thinking a yes.)

I Heart Owls

I Heart Owls

Since the NY trip is drawing closer every day, we needed to find the right things to go with our wedding outfits.

Guess what I found for what I’m wearing to the wedding???

Yes, owl earrings.

I think my life is complete.

Um…we went to Target today, and got SCHOOL SUPPLIES. This is not at all depressing, I always find this part fun.

Though it *looks* childish, I like to go with the fun notebooks/binders/folders/whatever.

Yeah, most of my stuff is Hello Kitty. But you can’t go wrong with Hello Kitty.

My yarn came for Sparkle! !!!!! Aaah, so happy. But this means a hold on Perseverance, which is sad. But I’m totally ready for Sparkle! to be over, haha. (I took a picture of it…but it’s really out of focus. Which is definitely not acceptable. >.<)

Thanks to Joey, to lets me play with his camera. And is so nice about it.

Odd Pet Peeve…

Odd Pet Peeve…

This Plinky happened a couple of days ago, but when it popped up, I couldn’t think of anything that was really….weird.

I finally thought of something…

I really…dislike it when you’re tying your shoe…and you see that one lace is longer than the other…

Why this bugs me, I have nooo idea. But it does.

In the two pairs of Converse that I’ve owned….it’s happened. Several times.

Several times, because SOMEONE, I won’t say who, took of my laces as a joke. TWICE.

It was kinda a moment of: “I’m not happy, Bob. Not. Happy.”

Though Converse lacing can be tricky sometimes, they are definitely some of my favorite shoes.

I <3 Converse. And just btw….these (above) are NOT pink. They are RASPBERRY. Just wanted to clear that up ^_^

Oh, speaking of awesome shoes…(Lol, talking about pet peeves can lead to shoes…)

My Toms should arrive today :-) *Major excited/happiness*

OH, annnnd speaking of an awesome person who lets me use his camera for blogging purposes, it's my darling younger brother's birthday today. Turning the ripe old age of 15.

Somehow, this does not make me feel bad…because he's already at least a head and a half taller than I am. So I started accepting it awhile ago.

If I finish the back of my Sparkle! dress today. I will be elated. More than elated. Ecstatic. Rapturous. In transports of delight. Jubilant. euphoric.

You get the idea.

But whether I'll actually do it today, that is a totally different matter :-)
